I can't say it enough anymore. I bought a Euro COMAND and in my car by now. I can watch DVD movies but only while under 10 mph. I went to the dealer and the hooked up SDS but the shop foreman who worked on it and tried to enable Video in Motion (VIM) could not find it on his laptop.
My original US COMAND has Date of Manufacturing: 45/03 on the label.

If you're handy....
Have you seen this site?

If you're a little hesitant to install it yourself....I'm sure you could find a good shop to convert your unit. The price seems reasonable.
I'm going to try one this winter when I'll have more time to fool around with it.

Eurocommand is the way to go. I can watch at 10mph or 110mph it doesn't matter. (110 would be done on a closed course, please do not try this at home)

Need help with DVD player.
Hi to all.
I do have two OEM Comand Units, one from a 2005 E-320(picture) and another one from a 2007 E-550, have install both of them on my 2005 E-320, both units work the same, Nav, MP3, Sirius, Phone but here is my problem, neither one plays DVD, I read on this forums that the older units till 2005 are capable to play DVD(not on the 2007).
My question is: based on the information on my 2005 build on 47/04(picture) is any of this units capable to play DVD's Video and if it does how do I make it work. Will appreciated any comments and suggestions on what to do to be able to play DVD's Videos on any one of them.

Only the first year (2002/2003) US COMAND has the Omega DVD playback processor on board. Harman removed it to save money since the US COMAND was based on the ECE COMAND without the intention of giving US/Canada customers the Video playback functionality anyways. The only reason it worked in the USA was because Harman also implemented the US/ECE software switch inside the Engineering Menu. Because NA has Satellite Radio the same button was used for SAT vs. VIDEO.

You don't need to spend a grand to watch DVD. You unlock your DVD from https://satnavninja.com/mercedes-benz/ for around $150.
