All 4 Wheels Stolen !
All 4 Wheels Stolen last night off my driveway. Jacked the car up & put bricks just about at the jack points. Waiting for the insurance adjuster Wednesday. I hope the 18 inch Sport wheel staggered's are still available in the polished version. (Not Painted)
Also, is this the part number for MB E Class Wheel Locks? B6-6-47-0144? Anybody know what they go for or is it reccomended that I use them or not? I really didn't think they stole OEM, nothing special, non AMG wheels from cars anymore.
They're covered by $50.00 Ded. Comprehensive, but I wont accept used tires or scuffed wheels as mine were perfect. I might have to take what they'd pay a junk yard in a check & add the rest out of pocket so I can get new.

I'll probably get a set of locks now. LOL
Its more of a PIA than any "agony" since once I replace the wheels, there's no residual damage to the vehicle.... Not that I felt that I needed to add money to an insurance settlement check.

Jeez, Barry, what part of Long Island do you live? (you don't have to answer that). But good attitude to look on the bright side, and look forward to a new set of wheels.
(me is glad I keep my curb-rashed wheels on - less attractive to tea leafs

RE: Wheels Stolen
Barry,
My condolences. Not really looking to sell, but I have the complete set of painted twin spokes, with factory mounted Michelins that were removed from my car at 780 miles. They are 100% perfect and as new. If getting replacements gets too complicated and you can live with the painted wheel, PM me and I'm sure we could work something out.
I also have a complete spare set of 07 CLS 5 spoke wheels with mounted Michelins, under 1000 miles, 95% perfect. I have had identical new car take off CLS wheels on my car since swapping out the OEM wheels, and have been very happy with them functionally/cosmetically, and they much easier to clean.
Best of luck with the insurance people.

I live in the Park also on Atlantic Ave. Thats sucks. They hit 4 cars in my area in the last 2 Months. Picked up My 09 E 350 less than 4 weeks ago. Would not leave the dealership with out wheel locks in hand. drove home and put them on.
Good luck
George

That sucks. I know I made the right choice on wheel locks.
Happened to my neighbor across the street recently, and he lives next door to a police officer. Left the truck sitting on bricks in the driveway. Hope you can get some rims without incurring too much cost.

Sorry to hear about the theft. Wheel locks are good for peace of mind, but can still be easily overcome if the thief wants them bad enough. You'll be looking good as new once the new shoes are put on!

Sorry to hear that, much as i love NY, that city is hard on cars. I'm surprised the tow/tilt sensor on the alarm did not activate?? Your insurance company should replace with new OEM wheels not sure about the tires, but for the price on new OEM wheels you could probably get some nice aftermarket rims if you were interested...

Pix of the No Wheel Car. So... do you think wheel locks will help prevent this Driveway Theft again?
So... now the wheels are hot. Not just the Keyless Go button.

Barry, sorry to hear that -- hard to believe.
I guess these cars don't have an inclination sensor, or your alarm would have gone off. I hate those wheel locks, but I guess they serve a purpose. What I heard about Porsche wheel locks is that there are only 12 different locks, and the dealers each have a set of all 12 keys. So, if a thief is determined, he just has to steal the dealer key set. Not sure if it's the same with MB. You might want to look into putting in an inclination sensor. I did this on two of my cars, but it was a real PIA on one of them, requiring multiple return visits to the shop to get it to stop falsing.
