Electronic Trunk Closer

Can the speed of the electronic trunk closer be adjusted? When I hit the close button it flys down in about 3 seconds. My pal has a BMW 750 and his closes very smoothly and slowly...I think slower is safer and less stress in the long run on the mechanics of the system......:

I have this problem on my 06 320 CDI.
It was working fine for a year or so (gently opening and closing) and all of a sudden started acting up on me – opening very fast and slamming hard when the “close” button is pushed.
Took it to the dealer and currently waiting for the “module” – they are on back order. Repair will be under warranty.

You should be able to adjust the speed in which it closes by removing the trunk liner and changing tension of the springs by moving them over a hole or two.

I have electronic trunk open. I didn't know you can close it with your remote. Is it an option or I didn't know how to use it?

There is an option for electric motor closing & latching of the trunk lid. What you and I have is an electrically operated solenoid switch that pops the trunk release & the lid raises by spring tension.
