Complain and make your dealer throw in some freebies. My car had 28 miles when I took delivery, I complained and got a stainless steel coffee mug, trunk cargo tray, several key chains(from parts department), and a wood and leather steering wheel.

Mine had 81 miles on it. Sure I would have liked less, but not a deal breaker. Mine was off the dealer lot, however. I can see being angry for those who ordered their cars.

My car better not have 48 miles on it when I pick it up!
Superboy65amg, apparently, you are an easy pushover. A car with excessive miles on it at delivery has been susceptible to abuse.

Both my E500 and my E430 had 6 miles when I picked them up. Both had plastic wrapping around the car. I got the E430 from Rusnak, and the E500 from HOI. Maybe I was just lucky?

After watching the SLR video, my thought is that the service department was trying to break-in the car for customer delivery. Usually driving around 40 miles should get the engine warm, oils lubricating, and rubber on tires soft.
