CDI vs Bluetec mileage

My impression from reading here is that the CDI gets better mileage than the Bluetec. That is based on seeing people post 40 plus with the CDI but not witht he Bluetec. Is my impression correct?

My 2007 has 26K on the clock, and since I got it has averaged 29.6 overall. I usually average 34 and change on the highway and 26-27 in town. Have not seen a 40 show up for any length of time.

I get between 32-34 on my 07 Bluetec with a 70/30 highway/town split.

Best ever, 42.1, hwy. on the road to Miami. Typical 25-31.
