Help with AUX IN W211 Cassette
Hi there,
I know this has been discussed before but I'm still a bit baffled.
I have a 2003 E270cdi which has the Audio 20 with the cassette player in the head unit, and the 6CD changer in the tray below.
What are the chances of getting an aux in somewhere?
Currently I am using a tomtom 920 (forgive me) for sat nav and this also has a pretty good iPod controller on board. There is a 3.5mm audio out on the tom-tom which I would like to put through the car's speakers. The benefit of this is that I can also use the tomtom for hands free phone (mute the iPod playback when the phone rings) and this also dips the music when I approach a speed camera!
I have been told that I can buy a dension MOST kit to connect the iPod to the car and control the iPod through the steering wheel, but I don't know whether I would need to get the upgraded head unit to make this work (The buttons on the left side of the head unit are Radio, CD Tape, Phone) - there is no button for CDC, which presumably means no AUX In.
The tomtom does have an FM transmitter but this crackles and hisses really badly so is not really usable. I did wonder about a 'cassette' adaptor that plugs into the cassette slot but it's not really ideal. I have never played a cassette in the car and would be happy to lose that facility if it was possible to connect the AUX in somehow to the tape output.
Hope this is enough information, and apologies if it has been answered before!

Hi again,
Is there ANY way to get a line in on this system? I would love to get a full comand system, but with the phone and iPod connections etc I'm looking at £3k.
Is it impossible to get my iPod to play through the speakers?
Any help gratefully received.......

I'm afraid for an Audio 20 unit the only option at reasonable cost is an after market AUX/iPod MOST adapter.
