2005 E500 Sport w/ AMG Package
Is It Just Me?
It is just me or is there in fact a difference in the way the 07/08's sit? I mean, every time I see one it looks like it hugs the tires closer than my 2005 e500 Sport. Upon closer inspection these later cars seem to also have 18 wheels like mine (tho mine has the amg package). Nonetheless on mine there is more space between my wheels and the fenders than I see on these later model cars. I do not think there is anything mechanically wrong with mine as it is not up in the air, but I like the way these other cars look a little bit tighter.

The 07/08 350's sit lower for sure. They are on springs, though.
As for the 07/08 E550's, they appear to be about the same. I have a late model (03/06 built) 2006 E500 that came with the double 10 spoke 18" wheels and the sport package. It sits the same as the 07/08 E550 models that I've seen around here.
I do prefer the look of the lowered suspension, but also believe that at highway speeds, our cars lower themselves a bit and probably look about the same as the current E350 models.

I'm pretty sure it's 'cause you have Airmatic. My car sits really low for stock, and it's on the Sport (Springs) suspension, definitely lower than most of the E500 Sport's I've seen (on Stock Suspension).
