Something about squeaky passenger seats

Hi there,

is there a Star Bulletin such that addresses squeaky passenger seats? I just can't stand this noise every time someone rides with me in the car.

Thank you.

Yeah, drives me nuts. If you have the DD seats (big boobie seats, lol ) it's really bad. And the pano roofs makes noise like crazy. I have both. Don't usually notice since I have the music up or windows and sunroof open, but when I have the music off or low and have windows and sunroof closed when someone else is in the car, I can hear the symphony playing. Drives me nuts. Never had problems like this on my 94 S. Our 02 CL is amazingly quiet too. Well I guess that's why it cost's twice as much. This makes me take back my arguement that I'd by an AMG version of a lower model benz (E63) v. a regular model of an upper class Benz (CL550). Yeah, definitely go with the higher model, even if it is the base 550 vs. a lower model 63.

Took it to service and complained about the seats. Service guy that I knew well said it's just a bad design, can't be fixed. Something to do with the air blades for the lumbar.

Leather...-what? It sounds like it is some plastic at the side or so that makes those noises.

I think it's the inflator blades.

Any idea how much that would cost? New seat required? Hopefully that is covered by my extended warranty!

Just a bad design, that's what they all keep telling me. I guess that's why they offer us a Harman/Kardon sound system to blast around with . Talk about distracting people form the facts, but I guess that is something that is becoming very common in this country.

Agreed!!!! Menthality: If we don't talk about problems, we don't have problems... Unfortunately nothing works like that, and there is always someone who figures out the real deal!

Hi Koenigstiger,

I checked, answered and believe there is actually something in that fits my issue.

Again, thank you so much!

Yes, finally. Fu** these S/A at the dealerships man, I can't find one honest one. *Sigh, I miss my old mechanic, he was the best. He's still around I just don't go to him anymore since I go to my uncle's.

Have you looked at this post:

It doesn't offer a bulletin#, but might help you fix your squeaky seat

konigstiger: That S-B you referenced...sounds like it's talking about my '04 e500 4matic. My driver side front seat is driving me nuts! What is an S-B exactly? Is the one you reference applicable to my car? Will it offer solutions? How do I get my hands on it?

Thanks!!!
Mark

Konigstiger, can you E-Mail me that too? Thanks. My Seats don't seem to be making any noises, but some other stuff is and I'm going in tomorrow for them, but just in case I guess it would be good to have them handy.

Damned with these F'ing rattles....

Before I start messing with my headrest, the passenger one is driving me nuts, I just want to be sure that the fix described also works with automatic headrests. Can someone please confirm that when it comes time to but it back in the holes that the automatic function will still work?

Thanks

I got the same problem!!

every time my wife rides with me, there is this squeaky sound comes from the seat belt buckle. If she holds onto the buckle, the sound stops! I was ready to bring my 07 E550 back to the dealer for a check!
