Just to confirm, these headers only work with the 5.5L engines only?

No, these will work on both the 5.0 and 5.5L engine. Gains on the 5.0 are quite a bit lower- 20, maybe 25 HP and TQ.

Crankshaft HP. Gains are typically 5-7% on the 5.0 N/A engine with headers.

Let me clarify here. The headers KLEEMANN Produces for the M273 V8 engine will only work on the 550 M273 engine. However, the headers KLEEMANN produces for the M113 V8 engine will work on both the M113 5.0 and M113 5.5 engine- see my post in the W211 AMG section regarding M113 headers.

The M113 is an engine family- it includes the 4.3, 5.0, 5.5 N/A and the AMG supercharged 5.5. Our W211 headers will work on both the E500, and the E55 AMG, as they share the same block and cylinder heads.

What type of gain would one typically see on the M273 (2007) E550 with your header package?

Secondly, would installation require (or benefit from) a tune, or would stock ECU cal work o.k.?

We are seeing gains of 25-30 HP with headers on the M273 engine with headers. ECU programming is indeed beneficial, and will bring another 15 or so HP, improved throttle mapping, we remove the speed limiter, among a few other things, so there are gains to be had with the ECU. It's perfectly fine to use the OE ECU program with headers- ECU isn't required.
