Wrong AMG wheels?

I purchased a set of AMG wheels from someone on the boardfor my car over the weekend. The wheel shop just called me and stated the holes were too small, my E needs a 14mm hole and the holes on these wheels are 12mm.

I haven't gone to pick up the car, will do so this evening, but does that make any sense? Can't i just drill out 2mm on each hole to make it work? Am I missing something?

No, you'll ruin the wheel drilling them out.

E-class changed to 14mm wheel bolts with W211, i.e. previous versions were 12 mm.

This likely also means the wheels are the wrong offset, as they aren't W211 wheels.

Search for RAD bolts. They make adaptor bolts from new/old wheels to new/older cars. You bought pre 2003 wheels.

yep, just get the bolts... i have newer wheels on my older car... so i had to get the newer style bolts... after you get them on and lower the car back on the ground check for any rubbing issues before you go flying down the road.... =)

Think about it.

Yes, there are "special bolts" that permit mounting wheels with bolt holes large enough for 14 mm bolts to fit hub threads that are 12 mm.

But, the hubs on a W211 are 14mm and the bolt has to be too, so if it won't go through the wheel, no "special" bolt in the world will help. He's already posted that a 14 mm bolt won't go through the wheel.

I had to try it for myself.... Never tried putting a older wheel on a newer car... Yeah look at that, bolt too big for the wheel... Learn something new every day... I usually put newer style wheels on the older cars... H&R might make an adaptor if its worth all this trouble for you.... I dont know if it was a good deal or not....

You have a picture of these wheels?
