Navigation Question
I've been looking at E500 2005 models and the one I want to buy has the Navigation unit (US) but no DVD controller (??) in the trunk. What do I need to make this work and how much would it cost?

How do you know it has navigation? A large screen on the dash's Comand Head Unit is standard whether or not the car has NAV. If it has NAV, it has a Nav DVD Drive on the left side of the trunk/fender wall.

yeah.. it only has the unit screen that's it with the Nav button so I assume it works and just needs the DVD unit in trunk. A little confused on this one...
When Steve did my CLK W208 he put in a Euro unit so not sure about how it works with the W211.

What does it say when you press NAV or MAP? It should tell you that there is no NAV unit installed. you may have to replace the trunk liner depending on the car, and install the DVD processor, which is essentially the DVD drive, and place it in the MOST ring and have it version coded at the dealer.
