Crazy Question...anyone ever installed a carbon fiber hood on a W211?
Saw one available recently for 03-06 and was wondering if anyone actually ever put this on there car. I would be curious to see what it looked like if anyone has. Particularly on a white E I think it would be interesting. Just a thought, I know it isn't quite in tune with the aftermarket styling of mercedes, but who knows. I actually think that a painting the sides of the hood the stock color and leaving a part of the hood in the carbon fiber might look classy if executed properly. I've included a picture of the actual product. Its made by ViS who does alot of carbon fiber and it costs about a grand.

I have seen one a black 211 with most of the hood painted...looked ok....
I think it is kinda ricey..good on a honda or old school M3, not good on a benz. Plus ViS hoods are not vaccuum formed and come out somewhat waivy.

I put one on my W202..took it off shortly after..still have it.The big thing is the heavy hood springs. The CF hood doesn't react real well with alot off weight on the end trying to close it.Also there are fitment issues that probably will occupy a little time.If you get it ,good luck and post some pics.

I was thinking the same thing. Paint the outside of the hood the body color and the rest would match because I have the panoramic roof its already black. I think that it would give it a real sharp look.
