There is a post where the speakers were replaced, https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...-solution.html.
The problem you will run into is trying to use the AGW with an aftermarket HU. I do not believe that will be possible. If you want to use the stock speakers, you will have to either
1- run 4 speaker wires to the trunk where the AGW feeds the speakers or
2- run a 3 RCA wires to the trunk, use a couple of amps, and then use the wires where the AGW feeds the speakers. In this scenario, you will probably need to replace the speakers as well, I dont think they will be able to handle the amps.
There are other hicups you may encounter, like finding power for the unit etc, since the stock HU only has 2 wires and fiber optics connectors.
There is a dash kit from Metra for the W211, and it is the only one available off the shelf, otherwise, you can have a shop make you a face since the Metra does not get good quality reviews.
I can send you a PDF with the color wires that come out of the AGW to the speakers in case you want to use those.
My recommendation, rewire the whole thing and dont cut any wires on the car, you may want to go back to stock if you sell it. And BTW, I sell Kenwood, so let me know which model you are looking for.
Cheers

I have a Kenwood deck installed in my car. The guy had to make a custom kit/faceplate for it. It gave it a nice stock look. Amps were hooked up in a little compartment in the left rear corner of the trunk. Hope this helps
