2014 C300, sport, black/black
Penske in San Diego (they own just about every car dealership in central SD) had their "big garage" in mid December. Everything must go, lowest prices ever, blah blah. The economy is in the crapper and they were asking full retail KBB+ on every car at all the dealerships. The MB dealer was a total joke.

There are bunch of decent import used car lots here and they were all selling the 2006 E350 base models starting at $19990 with 40k miles (and still under warranty), $21-22k for ones with options, and the 2007 E350 base models starting at $26k, about $27-28k with options. The MB dealer for the same cars wanted $28k and $38k respectively and they would not bargain. The import lots were serious and wanted to move cars so they bargained, where the MB dealer wasn't interested in talking down. Well, 3 weeks later the same cars are still on the MB dealers lot, and I am driving around in a base 2007 E350 sport with 35k miles for $25.3k from a used import lot.

Personally, I don't think they will go for $24.5k because it has so few miles on it, but, when Feb rolls around they may get desperate. Even at $26k it may be tough for you to find a used 07 E350 with 17k miles. Most have more miles. You may have to sweeten it a little if you really want to keep the car.

Right

You are right on the small dealers - and it is easy to find an '07 with 20k miles for $27k. Locally there are a couple dealers with them. The MB dealer is a different story - exactly like you say - they are still $5k higher. I don't know what they're thinking - maybe they are trying to keep the market high.

The auctions are reflecting reality - there are way too many of these cars out there. Local MB has 12, yes 12 60 and 07 E350s on the lot.

Offer

I made the offer to MB financial. They didn't accept. They're getting the car back and I am getting into an '09 for a song.

If anyone in Orange County is looking for a good deal let me know. I was going to pick up a car from a guy who gets first shot at all the lease returns at Fletcher Jones (biggest MB dealer in the US) before any of them go to auction. He is pretty picky and opts to pick up mostly Sport/AMG model E-350's that are still under warranty. He has 3 right now all in the 19-21k range of various colors. I probably would have picked one up from him, but I managed to score my current e350 before I could get a chance to look at his inventory, plus it had all the options I was looking for.

You guys are right. I just bought a 07 E350 CPO pewter/black for my wife for $30K. It has 37K miles with premium package, pano roof, parktronic and split fold rear seats. I even got 2009 command nav dvd as part of the deal. Your input here really helped me to negotiate with the dealer.

Good -- this is helpful bc I have been wondering whether I'm nickel and diming my dealer who is stuck at 32k for a 2007 E350 CPO with P1, pano. Any suggestions for negotiation strategies that work well?

E350
I purchased my CPO 2006 E350 with 15,500 miles for $29,500. The low mileage was a huge draw. It had '08 rims and low pro tires all around. The only drawback was that it didn't have the phone and iphone puck. No worries though....

Do you all think it was a good deal?

That's a great hook up. I wish I had registered for this forum before I bought mine. I will however be in the market for an AMG E something in about 4 years!

2007 e350 sienna black; AMG pkg
I just bought a CPO 2007 e350 in the NYC area with 32K miles, AMG package and Nav for 32K. I am believer in getting certified pre-owned since it's covered for 6 yrs/100K miles. And I just bought a Viseeo for $300 so now it is Bluetooth enabled for any phone and it all works through COMAND.
