The clock does grow on you .. I like it .. though my kids being of the digital age have to think about 'interpreting the time' ... lol .. I'm only forty and sound old !!!!
As for the gas tank being to big .. well that doesn't really make much sense .. you're going to use it sooner or later!

fwiw, the analog clock is a sort of signature item for Mercedes Benz. I had one in my 220S (of course that was before digital) and there has been one in all Mercedes E Class, afaik. When Bimmer people bring it up, I remind them of their kidney grills. The rest of the unwashed masses think the analog clock is sorta nice.
The ones in my W123 and W201 still keeps perfect time!

Electronically limited top speed of 130ish MPH. Anyone know how to get around that??? Good for Interstate driving I suppose but I drive the Autobahn to work everyday. My 94 BMW 750 topped out at 165 w/o mods.
60/40 rear seat issue:
In my 09 E350 when I release the passenger side rear seat (40) the front seat moves forward and can't be adjusted to the rear leaving 4-8 inch gap between the seats making it VERY uncomfortable for my fiance. I don't know if this is normal or not but it is quite the issue! Anybody else have this problem?
Ipod in the glove box. Really, this is just a pet peeve because 95% of the time I forget it is in the car...out of site/out of mind.

LOADED 2006 E500
Well,....I took the plunge. I think I paid a bit too much for it, but oh well. It had eveything I wanted. Now, I'm debating the aftermarket/factory extended warranty thing. RBM of Atlanta offered a $3100 for 36000, 36 MO extension, but at a $500 deductable. She wanted me to get it the same day as my B service was checked, but would give it to me TODAY! So, I have to decide very quickly what to do. All the other MB's I spoke with either don't offer it or all use different aftermarket companies.

Mine does not do that and I am not sure why, as it is coded to do it. The I/C is aware that the seat is released as it gives a warning, but the seat will not move forward automatically.
The passenger side seat will refuse to move back beyond a preset point when the seat is released, however the driver seat will move back and collide with the folded rear seat. I have renormalized them and they still do the same thing.

Limited top speed 130 mph? Maybe the Winter Tyre speed limit is activated?

Out Of Control!!
I have a 2006 and only have a few, very minor, complaints:
The only major problem I've had is with the HVAC which periodically quits for no known reason (normally when I need it the most). I know there is something about this which I will research before my next service.
- Sunglass holder is too small. I use it now to hold a pack of Kleenex (pocket pack) which fits perfectly.
- Aux input is in the glove compartment. No good way to plug something in without leaving it open (I've modified this on mine).
- Cigarette lighter is in a bad spot right behind the shifter. If you have to plug something big into it, you might have to unplug it in order to shift into park (or you may have to shift out of park to unplug it). A power source in the armrest would be nice.
- Cup holder too close to the shifter.
- Extremely hard to retrieve items which fall between the seat and
the armrest. - Center armrest is poorly designed when it comes to comfort.

I miss the old analog MPG readout, the one with the needle. I wish they still kept along with the new digital one.
