Chicago area 211 owners needed...
Does anybody know of a dealer in the northern Illinois area that will align a lowered "modified" W211 (E500 Sport)? I live in the western burbs of Chicago & my local Stealership won't touch a modified car.
My car is equipt with airmatic & ABC, therefore (according to the stealer) I need to have the car aligned by a special computerized rack that only the stealer has. I was told it needs a ride height check.
I posted this question in the suspension forum & had very little assistance with this topic. I'm sure the 211 forum is much more active group!
Thanks for your input.

I'll try to tell you without "slandering". This local stealer is the worst. Every time I bring either of my cars there, they try to hit me with ridiculous service bills. The last time I took my car for an alignment, the told me my car needed $4600 worth of repairs. All of this for an alignment!!!
I will admit their sales staff is nice, they do negotiate well. Their parts department also...very reasonable. Now the newest problem; they don't work on "modified" cars. I lowered my car with the "washer" method & adjusted the camber with "the bolts" & K-mac's". Therefore, I now have a fully adjustable suspension. They just don't want to touch it.
They are located in Westmont.

When I lived in Elmhurst the Westmont dealer was as you described. I was told I needed a new cam shift sensor, and it turned out to be a 2 dollar plug I had fixed at an independent shop. I think they are trying to make it throught their service dept. I certainly wouldn't buy a car from them.
