-followed by the ugly new SL's ugly front

is lexus paying mercedes to produce the ugliest cars on earth?
BMW on the other hand has not uglified their cars except for the new 2011 7-series rear end

look in the picture and remove the rear emblems. NOW try to figure out which one is the mercedes

UPDATE i just saw the new nissan maxima. it appears karl benz copied 60% of the taillights from it. including the LED placements. compare:

The front picture was a bit confusing at the very first glance.

Also, I like the Maxima's rear alot more than the 212's.... Unfortunately.

I definitely not into the new look .. to much like everything else out there.

They should have just slightly modified the front end to be a little more sporty .. leave the peanut lights but make them more like the SLR !!!

From which angel is it copied? Poster needs to get his eyes checked. The only similarity is the tilt and many cars have it. Same tilt is there in a 3 series new tail lights that does not mean they copied it from anyone else.

BMW is still know for making ugly cars that have good road feedback and handling.

Good that you don't like the looks, makes the queue shorter and the car I ordered today will arrive sooner.

I'm not saying the first impression of the looks would be the best possible one but then again, the looks has never been an obstacle when I've been after a benz. If you don't like it now, it is going to look great when you have it at your yard like someone mentioned earlier (obviously for several reasons).
