E350 availability
Starting from model year 2004 the E 320 is by 3.7 litres large and 245 HP (350 Nm) of strong E 350 to be replaced. Since new model year begins approx. in the September of the previous year, the premiere with the all-wheel drive (4matic) of the e-class might be on the IAA 2003. Already starting from 22 March 2003 the E will celebrate 400 CDI (for the time being only in the sedan available) with e-class the t-model premiere. It carries then 260 HP out and is a torque of 560 Nm between 1700-2600 U/min to have. It accelerates the e-class in 6,9s to 100 km/h. Abgeregelt becomes as usual with 250. Consumption is to amount to 9.4 litres on 100 km.
I guess we will be seeing an E350 in august/sept as a 04 model
Thanks for the info Nazby. Sure glad I ordered the E500. If indeed the E350 is introduced this fall as a 2004 model, I would imagine it would seriously impact the re-sale value of the current E320.
True, and we should see deep discounts on 320's as well. Provided that 350's are similarly priced.

I think there will be a price increase for the E350 over the current 320 of a few thousand dollars.
if the price is increased then the 350 will be too closely priced to the 500
The price difference between the E320 and E500 in our dollars is over AUS $ 25,000,enough room for a price rise without risk of losing sales to the 500.

"Mercedes-Benz E350
When will it appear?
Well, it looks like you will have to wait a little longer, if you want to buy an E350.
It turns out that MB still has quite a few 320 engines left in inventory and needs to exhaust the supply, before releasing the 350 powerplant.
Our sources tell us the E350 should appear as a 2004 model in the fall."
Just keep in mind that the 350 engine is merely an increased displacement 320 . It is not the next generation CGI. MB's cost should be essentially identical to the 320 so any price increase fot the engine would be based on marketing not any factory cost increase.
True, but what i don't understand is that here the S350 costs over $940,000HKD while the remaining 320's cost $800,000HKD. That is roughly a $17,000 USD difference!!
Maybe its just HK.

That's probably why the 350 is coming - better production efficiencies.
I am going ahead with my order and whatever happens with the 350- so be it.
That's all that I can do, otherwise I may be waiting for another year before my car arrives!
