These are knock-off's right? Are you sure you want to put a cheaply made knock-off on your car?
Why not just pick up a set of actual OEM E63 wheels? I've seen them on ebay time to time for ~2000.00 w/tires as low mileage take offs.
Or you can purchase a set new for 2500.00, I believe, with no tires.

I just purchased the same wheels and put them on my E500 from vortex tuning they shipped out the same day and were all packaged properly etc.
I can post a picture tonight if you want to see how they look on a car.

Please post pics...I am tempted to get these wheels also. Did you get the staggered setup? I would probably go with the same width all around so I can rotate them.

Shots with some light may have done the guy asking about these rims some justice. Not being picky, but I'm not sure if he can see them well enough to make a valued decision.

They weren't meant to be harsh ,only when displaying something for people to see (and there are those whose seeing is challenged) ,just try to get it bright enough for all to see. My apologies to anyone who was offended by my comment,it was not my intention. Maybe he can tell us is the pics are clear enough for him...

Looks good. I also got 19" AMG replicas for my car.
They look super.
Rims are rims, real vs fake, dont think it matters much in looks. Even quality wise, they are good enough.

Just curious...
I wonder what would happen when other companies go the way of Rolex? If a distributor or Rolex repair shop comes across a Rolex Knock off, with the name Rolex on the watch, the watches are confiscated. I wonder if Mercedes, more specifically AMG would ever do this? Could you imagine taking your car in for service and having your knockoff AMG wheels confiscated? I mean, they would be within their right to do this, but the customer would be pissed. Now, if the knockoffs only looked like AMG they couldn't do anything, but if they said AMG, well, just makes me wonder. Just curious, not trying to heckle, just observing.

Thanks for all the input,I would have loved to see brighter pics of these wheels on a brilliant silver E500 in particular but hey,it did do some justice.
Bryan, keep wondering couse the statement regarding "AMG wheels confiscated" is ridiculous.

I would hate to be in the middle of a 130mph+ run (in Mexico of course) and have one of these things completely disintegrate.
Buy quality wheels and tires guys, seriously.

Are those the tirerack E63 style wheels (sport editions) availabe in 18-20s? Or are they another brand of replicas? If they are the ones sold on tirerack, I wouldn't think tirerack would risk their stellar reputation by offering wheels that would jeopardize lives.
I don't think all replica wheels are automatically bad. Just like brand name wheels, quality is everywhere. Prudent research is always a good idea before purchase.

I drive my car almost everyday and I had mine for over 30K miles now with no problems at all. Just get quality tires, It should be fine. I'm getting new wheels though . I just can't decide what style.

Ridiculous?
If it were me and I wanted AMG rims and decided I did not want to pay AMG prices, fine, but I would never buy AMG replicas that are stamped AMG. I did wind up buying E-63 rims. I liked them, hated the stock wheels on the Bluetec, yup, put em on a bluetec, this too may seem ridiculous, but hey the stock rims weren't my cup of tea. Am I pretending my bluetec is an AMG? Nah, I proudly wear the bluetec on the back of my commuter e class.
sorry for the hijacking, I am now returning the thread...

back to the original message...
Ooonick, as far as it being foolish or not, I can't speak for those specific rims. I will say that the AMG E63 rims look great on the E, from my perspective. Another plus is they are incredibly easy to clean. I recommend you get a decent paste wax specifically for rims. They are one of the few rims I have had where you can clean the interior of the rim with relative ease. Before your order the rims in question, check with your dealer and see what kind of deal they can swing, you may be able to get a deal where they will around 500 or so a piece. Keep in mind that with original AMG rims you would be able to sell them at a fair price later if you decide to do so. I paid less than 600 each for mine, don't remember exactly though. For me, the peace of mind is worth buying the real deal. The new michelin all season Pilot Sport plus has been a great tire so far, the wear rating is 500 if I remember correctly. See there, haven't I been ridiculously helpful?
Peace!

Ooonick, me again...
It goes without saying, get the wheel tire set road force balanced.
Other things to consider...your Merc is comfort oriented car. If you go low profile you need to go with quality tires and rims or you may have balancing issues and a vibration up-front that won't go away. You may mess up your smooth ride. What ever rims you get, one good quality indicator is that the RIM passes the European testing org TUV. If it doesn't I wouldn't bother with em. Just me...
There is an old saying, if you want quality oats, expect to pay a fair price, if you want a discounted price I am sure you can buy used oats for less. Or something like that anyway, you get what you pay for.
