Low coolant message when coolant isn't low.

Recently, since the weather has gotten cold, i've been radomly recieving a "Low Coolant" message on my MFD. I've checked the overflow bottle and it's always right where it should be. The message is completely random and always clears on a restart. This seems to be some sort of sensor or sending unit that's going bad. Any idea where it is? Part #?

Thanks!

Note to self:

You're an idiot.

Although the reservoir looked full, after closer examination, it was about 2 inches lower then where it should've been. Manual states to fill the tank to where the clear part of the tank meets the black part of the tank. I didn't think that would've made that much difference but I decided to top it off anyway. 2 inches = 1 quart.

This begs the question, where did those two inches go? The only way coolant disappears is if you have leak, no?

Uggh.

Check all hose clamps and snug them up. Thats the most likely place for a tiny leak.

You can smell an external leak.

Not as likely if it's head gasket ... be nice to have a dipstick, then.
