E500 First Impressions
Airmatic suspension is a great toy and produces noticable changes in both the suspension and steering.
Premium sound is good and I understand from others on this forum that it gets better with some use.
Xenon lights are an improvement over the standard halogen lights in my old Lexus. It is a whiter, more brilliant light.
Handling and brakes are great. It took about 2-3 times during the test drive to get used to the brakes - and I like them.
No tendency to pull to the right, no brake noises, no engine ticking or any of the other annoyances that have been described in this forum.
Now, to start plowing through that extensive manual for the rest of the evening . . .
Many thanks for the updates.
This weekend I took a run up to my dealer in connecticut, and on I-284 had occasion to pass a tractor trailer. The acceleration from 55/60ish up to...umm, shall we say 'passing speed' was *visually* perceptible - meaning I saw the scene ahead of me changing *noticeably* quicker, almost like someone zoomed a lens in.
Happy happy, joy joy.
The airmatic on 'sport 2' along the Hutchinson River Parkway was *great*, really held nicely, as did the brakes when traffic inevitably had weird slowdowns.
A very composed car while not being dull at all.
