Outside Temp Units (*F to *C)???

Hey guys,

I have a 2009 E350 4Matic and I've been trying to change the outside temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius but haven't been able to find in any of the menus how to do it!

So I followed the "When all else fails read the manual", but the manual doesn't say anything either!!! WTF???

Does anybody know how can I change this? Do I have to take it to the dealer? It's driving me nuts!

Thanks

On my 2004 E500 this can be set using the buttons on the steering wheel. Under Settings, select "Instrument Cluster". In this menu, one of the options is "Outside Temp" and allows you to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Tried that already but it only gives me the option to select if I want to display either outside temp or speed. It doesn't give the option to change the temp units...

Sorry, I gave you incorrect instructions. Keep scrolling in that menu using the down or up arrow until you see "Temp. Indicator". That will allow you to change between Celsius and Fahrenheit with the + and - buttons.

Thanks!

I'm going to give it a try as soon as I leave the office today and see if it works. If not I'm just going to stop by the dealer on my way home.

***Update***

Went to the dealer to get the temp units changed, but unfortunately it can't be done via the menu.

Next step is setting up an appointment with the service department to get it changed.

All of this sounds a bit excessive don't you think? It doesn't really bother me too much, but why would you make it so difficult to change the temp units? I was able to change it from miles to kilometers using the menu, why not the temperature???

What is bothering me is the reason why the removed that "option". Specially when you think about all the crazy stuff that the COMAND unit (very **** name by the way) can do, What goes through the engineers head when they decided to disallow this? No clue.

Anyways, I am absolutely in love with the car. This is the happiest I've ever been with a new car. To my complete surprise, it seems that it does feel different when you get your 1st Mercedes-Benz...

Exclamation

Sorry to hear that you had to make an appointment to get this changed. I agree with you I cannot understand why they removed this from the menu. Good luck!
