Valeo Radiator Part Numner

HI,

I was searching for a cheaper alternative then buying a radiator straight from MB. I ran across this site http://www.mitchsautoparts.com/15.html

I emailed the guy and he said the part V732849 is Valeo's part number for the updated radiator. He said they are brand new units he recieved directly from Valeo- Can anyone verify this is an update part? I did some internet searches and came up empty. 219.00 is alot better than MB's 700...

thanks all-

The Mercedes Benz upgraded/modified radiator part #A2115003102 replaces the original MB Part #A2115000202 for the 2003 E500. I understand that the replacement radiator supplier could be either Valeo or Behr. Your parts source should be able to demonstrate to you that the MB part # crosses over to the Valeo part # he's offering you. It's common that end item manufacturers like vehicle makers to obtain parts from suppliers and then put their own part nos. on them but they might also have higher engineering specifications requirements than the generic one.......it's always hard to tell with the games played on parts. A non-Mercedes Benz part installed could also void a vehicle warranty if something should go wrong with the non-dealer part but perhaps you no longer have a warranty anyway.

Thanks- I have the MB part numbers- I just thought someone might be familiar with Valeo and thier numbers- As previously posted this seller states it is a new updated part from Valeo but without verification i am not going to waste my money. With all the tranny talk on this forum i figured there would be quite a bit of interest in a 200.00 replacement. Especially since most 2003 models are out of warranty...

Thanks-

Ok guys I tracked this down and verified that Valeo PN 732849 is the latest radiator Valeo makes for the afftected E500's (W211.072).

http://www.valeoservice.com/html/exp...ueproduits.php

You can click on the product catalog and look under cooling parts for the specified vehicle and all the MB/Valeo P/N cross references are there-

SOOO if any of you has the affected radiator and would like to buy a replacement for a fraction of the cost (219.00) the site above has them in stock- for that kind of money I am gonna grab one myself- This info should possibly be put in a sticky as much as this issue is discussed here. This is a fairly cheap solution- Hope this helps someone in the future.

Just FYI-

I got my radiator today and i wanted to let everyone know it is the updated part per the TSB. It has the 2 clamps flat on the bottom VS the angled clamps on the older radiator-

I will snap some comparison pics as soon as i get the install underway.

I'm a bit late to the party, so apologies for the thread resurrection... but my thanks go to Gisham for this info.

I recently purchased a late 2002 w211 E500 and the folder of receipts showed me that the previous owner had the radiator replaced at the beginning of this year (@ 97K miles), along with a new torque converter, flush & reconditioned auto gearbox.
A physical check showed me that the replacement radiator was another Valeo ... so was a bit concerned.
However, as it has the part# 732849 on it (along with a date of 22/1/2010) this seems to tie in with the groundwork Gisham did when finding the updated part elsewhere... my mind is now at rest again

Thanks
Andy.

Thank you, I'm getting ready to order VALEO 732849, do you have an update on how this radiator has held up over the years?
