Maintenance question
My 2003 E500 has 60,000+ miles
It has had all service done at the dealership since new.
I was never told to replace the Serp belt, when should this be done?
I have replaced the main Bat twice but still have the original Aux bat.
I checked the voltage and it reads 12.5 how long should I wait to replace it and if it goes will the car still run?

paulf124, my 03 E320 is at 101k miles on the original serpentine belt. It still looks good to me.
I replaced the auxilliary battery about 6 months ago when I got a battery warning light. I would search this board and others for a thread where someone mentioned that the auxilliary battery is the same as a motorcycle battery and replaced it for much less than what the dealership charges. I paid about $140 for the auxilliary battery. I would tell you to that the my best guess is that the odds of the auxilliary battery failing are high after 5-6 years.
