Clearly not "fully loaded" as the seller states. No Keyless-Go.. can't tell about lighting package because the pics are low resolution. No COMAND either.

If I were in the market for one I would get a 2004 at a minimum... a 2005-2006 would be even the better.

The 2003 was the first year in NA that had the W211 chassis and it's known to have its share of issues. Some carried over to 2004 and even 2005. By 2006 it is pretty much agreed that most of the issues were resolved.

2004 will get you COMAND, and depending on build date Bi-Xenon with Active Curve.

If the car was like 15k I would say it might be attractive. I assume it is also out of warranty?

Thanks Polar Bear

Yes the car is out of warranty...but its a local trade in where the guy who owned kept all service records and traded up to a LS 460.

I dont know much about the Eclass but am looking to spend around 20k for a nice sedan

I think you could probably find a 2005 or maybe a 2006 for a tad over 20k in this economy. The E500s are not demanding much if any over the E320/E350 due to the perceived fuel economy of the V8, which is not much different at all unless you do the majority of your driving in town.

Are you looking for a E500 or just any E-class? The E350's are much more common so you may be able to find one with lower mileage in the 2005-2006 MY for that price.

Check out ebay ... I see a handful of 2005 E500's .. mileage may be somewhat high but if you can add a warranty and get it at a good price .. may be worth it ..

Are you based in Vancouver?

If so, we have a fraction of cars the US does and prices are much higher even in this economy. If it helps, I bought my 03 E500 May 2008 from MB North Van (w/33k kms, no accidents, 1 owner) for 25.5k and that was a good deal. I looked into importing a US car but it's a major PITA. Expect to pay 2-4k on top of the purchase price to have it registered in Canada.

If not, the worlds your oyster!

I've seen the 500's go for 20-30k in Vancouver. Most in the low 20's have north of 80k kms which in the big picture isn't too bad. A buddy of mine works at MB North Van and it's why I got the good deal...

I've been toying the idea of selling my car actually. Though it's got a bunch of mods and I would be asking low 30's (i put 15k+ since I bought it).

I'm thinking about bringing one in to Canada.
Other than Provincial + Federal tax and the 6% Duty, are there "other fees" to have it registered?

Thanks,
G.

It is hard for you to find an E500 or just any E-class? This is because of the reason that the most preferable is the E350.
