Do I have to service my car at an MB dealer?

Do I have to service my car at an MB dealer?
If no...what do I need to have for proof of service?

as long as you have the car serviced at a certified independent MB shop, receipt is good enough

Is the certification from MB?
We have one reputable shop in Fairfax, VA specializing in BMW and MB.
I'm not sure how to go about checking if they are certified.

The service has to be done but it doesn't matter who does it. Check your warranty to be certain.

Proof for what? You can service car yourself or in any shop of your choice. It won’t void your warranty or lease terms.
