Cabin verses Combination filter

Cabin verses Combination filter
I have a 2003 E320, combination filter is due as part of a D service. My dealer says it is a big deal for it is in behind the dash. In reading this forum I believe there is only one filter they are talking about, it is under the hood in front of the passengers side and is a cabin filter but known as a combination filter. Whtas makes this a combo filter, is it a charcoal cabin filter or what?
Questions, for the D service, is there only one combination filter, the one I refer to under the hood? What is the part number and about how much does it cost.
Thanks
Jeff

If the E320 is like the E500 then you have the dust filter under the hood and a charcoal filter in the cabin behind the glovebox (or somewhere in that vicinity)
The dust filter is changed often but I've heard the charcoal filter is only changed at 90K miles ...

You do have the separate charcoal filter only if the car is equipped with the 4-zone AC.
These days the dust filter is a combo filter (used to be like that for the 2-zone AC). In any case changing the charcoal filters is a minor task. If you have not used them a lot (an a 2003 car those are not always used, just when the button is pressed or when the car decides the filters are needed), I would not even change those.

Just to clarify .. We don't have the charcoal button but the additional charcoal filters are in the cabin under the glovebox .. Is that correct?
