Finally- Motor Mounts-Alignment +++

Walked into the dealer with the thread abd service bulletin about the mounts- Fixed- what a difference in the sound- so quiet- yet hit it, and it growls.

Wood Wheel- took the advice of this board- blk with birds eye and sport- unreal- feels great- changes the entire appearance of the interior. The sliding sound made me crazy

had the car aligned: dealer didnt know what was wrong- showed the thread about Camber Adj? Its sort of fixed! (good enough)

The "hearing test" noise when i depress the brake?
Was told to turn up the HK7- that worked also~
A big thanks to all the members-

(to be honest- last car was an audi a6- I was so upset with the MB 500 thought I made a mistake- the mounts make the difference and the wheel blew me away.

thanks again from CT! cant wait till spring

Just had my motor mounts done too. It sounds and feel much better. The service bulletin number helps a lot. Power to this forum. The service order said "replaced front engine mount, left and right." I am curious. Did everybody just have the front mounts replaced ? The rear mounts are ok ?

So Mike, it's sorta fixed?

Does it drift now, after the camber adjustment?

Have you got any other info we could use to take to our Service Writers?

For the motor mounts it does not specify rear or front
" cusotmer complains of a diesel like noise 20-40mph- performed fuction test-verified and replaced engine mounts"

the alignment? I still think here is a right drift- when they gave it back to me they said its perfect and I have not had a chance to check it on a road i know is flat...

I bought my E500 last week and I'm pretty sure I have the motor mounts problem. It sounds almost exactly like the 80s diesel Benzes and occurs on light to medium acceleration. Not too loud but nevertheless it does put a damper on the otherwise excellent V8.

I'm planning on taking the car to the dealer next weekend for the fix. Did anyone's dealer already have the parts in stock? I'm hoping I don't have to wait for them to order the parts. It's a fairly common part right?

I had mine done a few weeks ago at the dealer iin Glendale. They did not know the problem in advance and it took them one and a half days to have it done including getting the parts from somewhere. They did give me loan car to use. I suggest you tell your dealer the problem in advance so that they can get the parts first. Referring them to the service bulletin number is important. Good luck.
