I have an 05 E500 that will need rotors and pads replaced with 50k miles.. Are the pads and rotors the same on this as the base e500 without the sport or amg package ?

Just ordered all the Pads, Rotors, sensors and brake paste for my 05 E500 AMG pkg. Will be doing the work soon, you are looking for the ventilated rotors in the read of the car. I ordered all MB original parts for mine. I understand that the Jack point pads (on the car) have a rectangular cutout that most guys are cutting a block of wood to size to fit when jacking up with a floorjack (I recall reading you may need them to clear the side skirts). I too have the E500 RWD AMG sport pkg. and I've often wondered what was the diff. bet. the RWD calipers, and the 4matic calipers. The RWD have the cool "Mercedes-Benz" writing on the front calipers, the 4matics do not. (Sorry to sway off-topic, but it is related).

thanks for the replies,, i was trying to determine if i could get aftermarket parts easy or if the amg package was going to be a special item.. this round i am just going to replace with oem pads.. next time maybe go with slotted aftermarke rotors etc... it looks pretty easy to do, unplug the brake unit and go....
