W211 wheels interchangeable with W210?
Does anybody know if the offsets are the same for W210 wheels and W211 wheels? Reason I ask is because I have come across a couple of sets of 19s from W210s that I would like to put on W211.

W212 E350 AMG E63 Pack.
I'm in the wheels business, W210/211 are not 100% interchangable. The W210 takes a 12x1.5bolt. W211 takes 14X1.5 bolt. So unless the W210 wheel has a hole 14mm wide then you might use them. Also to get the better look and fitment on the W211, the take a lower offset wheel than the W210.

I've had my W211 wheels changed to AMGs and was told that wheels for W210s will NOT fit. I don't know the technical details of wheels and thought they would either fit or not fit and that there is no gray area in between.

There is a big gray area--layman's understanding here--the bolt pattern and fit may look OK, but there's something called the "offset" that measures the position of the wheel centerline relative to the hub and determines the loading on the suspension. Too great a variance can actually cause breakage of the suspension or driveline components with stress and wear. Crazy4Cars also mentions above a measurement for what appears to be bolt or hole diameter, and though I am not familiar with that, it could also be a problem in wheel swapping. His expertise would be welcome.

The W210 takes a bolt 12x1.5mm which is thinner that the 14x1.5 that the W211 takes, what happens is that most wheels are cut to take the 12x1.5 bolts therefore the 14x1.5 will not fit.
and all that is beside that the W210 takes a higher offset wheel than the W211. You can use W210 wheels on the W211 if the wheel takes the 14x1.5 but the offset will not be correct and will cost the wheel to look tucked in.

Thanks for the added info. I'm not clear how ANY w210 wheel could fit if, as you say, they all only have 12mm diameter bolts whereas the w211 has holes that are 14mm. Why would they have ever made a w210 wheel with 14mm holes? And so I take it that offset refers to how far from side to side the wheel screws onto the car as it relates to how far this plane is from the outside of the tire.

Offset for W211?
It appears that 14X1.5 mm is the lug bolt thread pitch for the W211, but does anyone know the offset? Looking to put on some 19" wheels/tires on a 2003 E320 (non-sport edition). Thanks in advance.

Thanks Crazy4Cars. Do you have the E320 or E500? What kind of 19" wheels/tires did you have on your car? I would like to put 19X8.5 in the front with 245/35/19 and 19x10 in the rear with 275/30/19.
