Potential buyer of used E500 needs help
Tested a used 2005 E500 with 74K miles and 7 yr extended warranty for $19000. The car looks great with AMG 19" staggered wheels & rims, and true E55 dual stainless steel exhaust. I almost pull the trigger, but when bring wife for test drive. She did not like the sound of the car
. I think it is because of the E55 exhaust. My question is there big difference between E500 and E55 exhaust in terms of Sounds? Can I change the E55 exhaust back to E500 one? and how much sound improve it will be and how much to do such work?

03 E500 and Corvette
Don't know what the E55 exhaust sounds like but my wife really likes 
her E500 and you can't hear the exhaust. I drive a Corvette with corsa Touring exhaust that sounds like an Indy car when I drive on the track. The exhaust is probably close to the E55 but not objectionable and it is louder than stock E500. Let your wife test a new E550 to compare noise levels.
DON'T buy it without the extended warranty! Our CPO warranty has paid for itself 4 times over.

Or just change them after you buy the car, and you can sell them on the classifieds here. Or you might end up liking them
