03-06 euro trunk lid

Anyone ever put this on their US 03-06 E? I think it would give a cool look and have an OEM vibe without having to do the whole 09 conversion. It's similar to the new style trunk but a tad different. Could I just order this from a UK shop or something? Anyone know if they come pre drilled for euro plates? If so that may be a problem. Other that that it should fit right?

The part you are enquireing about is made of plastic and is attached to the metal trunk lid as a separate add on section. You do not need the whole trunk lid, so you can put the '07 lid part on your car & get the metal license plate mount for your plate (which the pre facelift cars dont require).

I wouldn't bother doing the euro piece and run the risk of the license plate not mounting correctly. IMO do the 07+ and be done with it! Terrific upgrade BTW, really updates the look of the car.

yea i know it's a separate piece...trunk finisher right??

the thing is, i will probably never have the spare money to do the whole 07 update so
i'd really like to stick to what's proper for my year. i'd feel funny just having the new trunk look without the new lights...and i could probably do the lights too but then it would be weird without the front even though the new ones look a little better id like to stay true to my model year.

just in case i do decide to do the 07...how much and does it come painted???

thanks

The rear OEM LED tail lights A211 820 25 64 and A211 820 26 64 run about $250 each. The Trunk recess(trunk lid plus plastic chrome piece) A211 810 01 73 9999 sells for about $200. I'll sell my rear facelifted taillights if you are interested . I will be getting rid of my w211 in upcoming months and don't mind parting it out.
