2003 E500 aux battery

I think I need to replace my aux battery in my E so I did a search before I posted this but didn't find what I need.

It seems like and my manual says the aux battery is 12v but the one in my car seems like a 6v motorcycle battery. It's a oem battery with MB stickers on it so I don't think anyone installed it by mistake. My question is the aux battery 6v or 12v, can either version be installed without hurting anything?

It is 12v and should be replaced with the same voltage/amperage.

Pull the aux bat, match it with one of these. Note the type of terminals and +post location. Remember don't short the termials if you don't disconnect the main (trunk) battery.

Autozone GTX 14-BX FG AGM
Walmart everstart Maxx 14-BS AGM
Interstate CYTX 14-BS (at local firestone) Or Harley Davison
Delco GTX 14-BS
Napa 740-1866?? Not sure if # is correct
Yacht CTX12-BS ETX-12/12BS
Sears CB12C-A
Yuasa YB12AL-A2

Possible just 14-BS will work.

Battery dimensions

WxDxH 6”x3 ¼”+ x 6”

Note + Terminal is on right side when looking at the back side of the battery.

Thanks guys good info. Anybody heard of Braille battery that tirerack is selling? They seems to be from a Japan company and judging from the price it is a high quality brand?

Dude, vettdvr just listed the batteries you need....

Don't be all 'brand new' and try something unproven..
Take it from me, I get advice from some of these peeps on here ALL THE TIME..
I've learned to trust what the Corvette says.....

Get one of the batteries on the list.....

Your idea is flawed...this is a forum where people come to share their knowledge and experience. If your mentality is you don't want to learn or try something new (whether it's proven or not) then it's counter intuitive to what everyone is doing here.

On the side I did went to Autozone but they don't have the GTX 14 bx model in stock. I'll probably check on Walmart for the everstart tomorrow.

Price = quality is never a guarantee. Case in point, early MY W211s.

Just an update...I went to walmart and found the everstarts there. I installed them after I got home and it worked like a charm.

Anyone know where to find a replacement aux battery in Canada (Toronto)? I tried looking for these at Walmart, Canadian Tire and Sears, but none of them carry these in Canada. Walmart had an Energizer AGM battery but the only info that was written about it on the box and display was "14BS" and it was $109.

Just an FYI If I remember correctly it has been a while the Braille is the company that mfg's the MB OEM battery. I pulled my OEM battery found the Braille name, went to the Italian website found products made then got the cross reference number. From there to the Harley Davison website as Harley uses the Braille made battery but under a different name (HD). Then using the HD size I cross referenced to other mfg's selling in the US.

So to answer your question YES I have heard of Braille and they make the OEM battery which is the same battery HD sells under the HD name.
