I am going to pick up a 2005 E55 on saturday but i was JUST told that they accidentally posted that it had navigation, but it does not.

There's the link for the car.. VIN # is the last portion of the HTML link.. Car does have the COMAND system but no navigation drive.. From what im assuming, i will have the exact same installation as the Original Poster on this thread.. Is that correct?

Im trying to contact the seller to get extra information about the car so i can figure out how to get the navigation up and running.. hopefully someone can chime in.. thanks
Besides the side panel, you will need the nav drive, disc, bracket, splitter and STAR version code to add the nav to the fiber loop and get Nav on the IC display. Also, you will need to reconfigure the MOST fiber loop as mentioned on the post.
Lastly, does it matter which drive/software I use? Or do all w211's use the same drive/software? Thanks for your help.
If the panel is there, then they may have removed the drive and maybe the splitter is still there, but who knows without looking at the car. Try to get the latest DVD if you are going to buy it new (2009). Otherwise, you can pretty much get any version, just avoid 2007.1 it had issues and would route you wrong.

If your car is loaded with other features like Harmon Kardon, Keyless Go, Parktronic, etc., then your car may already come with the bracket installed. Presumably, since your car is an AMG version, it already came with the bracket.
All you need is the GPS splitter and if you don't want to mess with the MOST ring in the B pillar, you will need an extra MOST fiber adapter.
Here are the part numbers:
GPS antenna splitter A210 820 24 89
MOST fiber adapter A211 540 68 33
This, and the DVD navigation drive unit is all you need to install.
You will find a power cord, GPS connector and MOST adapter behind or around the bracket.
There are two ways to connect the MOST adapter to your DVD navigation drive. The easy way (IMHO) is to buy a MOST fiber adapter from the dealer (Part No. above) and disconnect one of the fiber cables connected to AGW next to the bracket and connect the fiber cable back into the MOST fiber adapter that you bought. Note the arrows on the end of the adapters and connect accordingly. Reconnect the AGW MOST adapter into the the AGW and connect the new MOST adapter into the DVD navigation unit. There will be an extra MOST adapter that you will not use.
Alternatively, you can look into the B-pillar and do the following:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...n-install.html
In this method, you will use the extra MOST adapter.
Follow the directions for the GPS connector/splitter (from steph280) and connect the power to the DVD drive. Pop in the DVD and you should be good to go.
