E350 4Matic Good Deal ?
Hi,
I live in NJ and am looking to trade in my C300 4MATIC with a E350 4MATIC. I want to finance the car, so far I tried two dealerships and this is the best deal I was able to get. Do you guys think this is good are can I do better.
E350 2009 4Matic
P1
Sports
MSRP 58275. Dealer is willing to give it to me for $50,000.00
I've been reading about some really nice deals in the Chicago area, same car going for ~$45,000.00
Thanks

Eh, that's an okay. Deal. There is a $4000 rebate on the 09 E-class right now. So, my suggestion is to just negotiate something from invoice, then once you agree on that price, take off the 4K.
50K sounds about right for that car. Also, I'd spring for P2. Get the keyless go. Its worth it.

If you're in the states, there is a 6k incentive from MBUSA.
You should get 10k off that car minimum. I was able to get that over the phone pretty easily from several dealers in Chicagoland.

I got the E350 09, White with Black Interior + P1 + Sports. Absolutely love it. Already added 300 miles to it. Didn't get a chance to take any pics yet, will be doing that and posting it hopefully by this weekend.
Initial Impressions:
Between the two cars the C300 and the E350
E350
1) The car feels like a tank. There is a sense of it being extremely heavy when compared to the C. This is a good thing, its much more enjoyable to drive, though I think I was more comfortable in the C when it came to making quick lane changes. It might be because I'm still new to the E.
2) Build quality both interior and exterior feels much better than the C. Obviously you get what you pay for, not to say the C was not good but this is much better.
3) NAV on the E is placed in an awkward place, below the drivers line of sight. I now have to look down every time I want to see the NAV. I also miss the wheel on the center console. Now I have to reach to my left to make any changes to the NAV as well. I guess this will force me to use the voice recognition more often.
Overall I am very happy with the switch. The car looks like a million bucks and has ample space in it with the two car seats in the back. Its a blast to drive!
Here are a few questions for the experts on this forum. I am sure some of it is in the manual so apologies for that.
1) What is the official break in period.
2) The manual says that I can configure the passenger side mirror to tilt when in reverse. I tried doing it but it didn't work.
3) There is further talk in the manual that I can set the car so that when I lock it from outside using the key all the power windows and moonroof will also close ? Wasn't able to get this to work either.
I'm thinking that these features are probably not available in the US model. Just want to confirm.
Thanks

1,000 miles. Follow what is says in the manual and don't forget to keep the car in C mode during the break in period.
Not any more. For some reason this feature got discontinued starting with the 2008 MY cars.
Not sure about that. I know that if you lock the car and keep your finger on the button for 2 seconds all the windows will roll up and the sunroof will close. Same when you open the car but all the windows will roll down. This only works on the drivers side of the car and you have to have the key fob pointed towards the IR sensor built into the door handle.

How to keep my baby clean ?
My biggest problem is bird droppings. Once they hit, its tough to remove them without a stain being left behind.
I wash the car myself and make sure I use enough wax to ensure that these things will slide right off. Can the people on this forum recommend products for keep the car clean. I currently use Mothers shampoo, sealer and then wax everytime I clean the car.
