I recently went to my local MB Dealer to buy a replacement wheel cap.......the Parts guy mentioned he had just received the new black type cap which he said just became available.......he showed me one and I decided to replace my existing ones with the raised star on them.......they kept breaking anyway. I've posted a photo of these new black ones in case anyone wants to get them: $17 each at my dealer.

I think the 08 e-classes with the no charge sport package came with those laurel wreath style wheel caps. Look nice. I remember the older SLK's having those

I put the "blue" laurel wreath with the raised star on my wheels a while ago. My car color is the black opal which looks a deep navy blue all the time(except at night). The laurel wreath caps seem to give a better finish and style to the wheels.
By the way, your new caps look great.

+1 I was thinking the same thing. I think the current ones look better however. these seem to contrast too much. Looks like you cleaned the whole wheel and left some brake dust in the middle..lol jk
