Steering Wheel Swap

Have been going through many threads regarding swapping steering wheels. I have an E55 stock wheel with the shift buttons on it.
I thought it would be thicker than my stock one and that's why I swapped.
If I were to spend copious amounts for the CLK63 type steering, would I need to change my airbag? Any similar wheels that would take my old style air bag?
Also, how can I get the shift buttons to work. I know its been discussed but I just cannot find it!
Or do any of you guys have one that ya'll don't want??

The CLK one will require a different air bag. The 55 one will use the same air bag as e-classes from 03 - 06 (at least in US).
