can anyone help with ampg on 06 e350 4 matic
hi, i'm driving a 06 E350 4 matic, in the beginning, i had the "s" option on, then i read it in the forums that with the "C" i can get more and it's better for driving, so that's what i did, but i don't really see a different in it.
right now, driving with "C" option, i get about 14-15.5 mpg on local and about 19-20.4 mpg on highway.. is that good or bad?

2015 ML 350
I drove from DC to NY Sunday & got 27.6 MPG @75 MPH
Driving in C eliminates the use of 1st gear & also lets the transmission make shifts at a little lower engine RPM. Basically is yields a tiny wee bit slower acceleration, but once you're in 7th, its all the same.

You meant 5th? Only the E320 BlueTec and AMG come with 7 speed, the rest are all 5's.

death to the 4matic 5spd I hate it! However, I don't think that is true. I'm pretty sure 7spds are available in 09 model 211 4matic's and I know its available on say an 09 ML 4matic and so forth. Anyway, you may want to start with something simple like checking your air filters and maybe a fuel injector cleaning would net you some higher mpg numbers. And yes, driving in C starts the car in 2nd rather than 1st which obviously burns less fuel. GL
