Hood release difficult to open...

The hood release on my '04 has become increasingly difficult to pull.
To the point where the cable actually popped out of the handle.

I was able to get it back in but wonder if any members have experienced this and found a lube point that whould make it easier to open again ?
Just looking at it doesn't give me a clue what spots along it's route cause this.

This diagram will give you a general idea of the hood release: 210 hood catch left & right part # 2198800160 (parts.com $13.22), 120 front release cable 2118800159 (24.72), 130 rear release cable 2118800259 (14.38), and 105 interior handle 1248800320 (8.34).

Check both hood catches if fine it may be the connecting point between front & rear cables.

Turns out lubing the catches, springs and cable did the trick...opens easily again. Thanks Dan !
