Replacement Xenon Bulbs

I have a 2004 with the Bi-Xenon and realized that the lights are not that bright, it is time to replace the bulbs. I was wondering what you guys recommend for the brightest other than the OEM.

I think you understated "not that bright".. I had to check to see if they were on they were so poor. I replaced them with the Sylvannia Ultra Star 7.

I replaced both at the same time. The down side is we have only had them installed about a year and the right side burned out last night. The OEM's lasted 5 years. The sylvannia lasted 1. So Eventhough they are better the jury is still out for are they worth it.

Stick to PHILIPS 4300K D2S. They have the highest lumens. The higher you go on the Kelvin scale (e.g. 6000K, 8000K, 10,000K) the less lumens you'll get. I've been driving with 6000Ks and they may look nice in appearance, but they really suck in wet weather.

Does the Philips exceed the MB wattage rating?

Are you using them?

the philips 85122s are about the best lumens wise for standard 35w jobs, although some people prefer the more purple/pink tint of the osrams. as xenon bulbs age the do get quite a bit dimmer, and rise in colour temperature so if theyre looking quite blue new ones would probably help. other than that you can replace the resistor between the current sense resistor and the feedback input on the control IC inside the ballast to get a bit more wattage from it, or fit aftermarket 50w ballasts if that floats your boat.
