2004 E500 Questions
Whats up everybody. Well, right now I'm driving a 2002 C320 but it's sooo small. I have found a 2004 E500 with 55,000 miles on it with a clean CarFax for $18,000.

I'm also wanting to lower it before I get wheels and have decided to buy some Eibach lowering springs ( hoping these are reliable ). How much does it normally cost to get them installed?
Also, are there any known issues I should be aware of? I love this car! I kinda wish it had black interior but its no the end of the world. O, and does the car play DVDs? It has the navigation and just about every option ( love the push start on the shifter! ).

Know issues are as follows:
1. Brakes. Be sure to get the dealer to replace the SBC pump. Its covered under a 10 yr MB recall. Also, have them check the Battery Control Module in the process. If this goes out, your brakes are gone. This happend to me.
2. Ball joints will need replacing at 70k miles.
3. Trim pieces directly under the windows seem to be faded or oxidized, and don't match the car color / finish. There is no cure for this according to the dealer.
4. Keyless Go - contantly beeps at you to remember your keys - when getting in and out of the car. If I could stop the beeping madness, my life would be complete. Dealer will not disable.
Other than those points, the car is beautiful and drives like it is brand new at 100k miles.

The E500 does not have traditional springs, it has the airmatic suspension. Search this forum, there's about 4 different ways to lower that car, ranging from $1.00 up to about $1000.00
