Replacing the stock HIDs with 8k bulbs just degraded his lighting and increased the amount of glare that both he, and other drivers, are exposed to. By dropping the car as much as he did he degraded his handling and set himself up for suspension issues -![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

Around here, high K lamps have become a passing fad now. And so it's not unique anymore.
But do whatever floats your boat. That's what is the most important. Be true to yourself because in the end, nobody else cares...

I don't remember calling you names, but....
http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...e/bad/bad.html
From looking at the OPs car, it is obvious that he did everything only for the bling factor - a sad thing to do to a MB. Those mods are all personal and perfectly fine until he puts other people at risk - the 50% windshield tint and the 8k bulbs can be lethal to others...

I'm not sure if you're smart enough to understand what you read, but on the off-chance that you can, here is an article that you might want to consider:

Lights will stay the same.....Tints are no more.....like other memebers in this thread said....My Car My Opinion...My Mod..MY MONEY.....feel free to comment but plz let's not turn this into an argument thread because its all opinions

Yeah I understand. I've toyed with the idea of getting one, but think on my car, with the setup, tinted tails, debadged trunk, etc. it might break up the clean look back there and look a bit less sporty.

.... nothing to brag about, it is a previous model....
Thanks.
Yeah, I dunno, I think it might need the wider plate to look totally "at home", but I think I've gotta see it in person. Fitment, etc. all look OEM? Or could you tell that it's a stick-on if you look up close?

Did you install it yourself? Was it hard to measure perfectly to be fitted dead-center? I'd probably take it to a Body Shop as I'd be too paranoid to have it off center at all.
Another big worry is I'm kind of aprehensive as to whether it would look like a "stick-on" up close.

Yeah, I've actually asked him about it, I think it looks pretty good, just not 100% sure until I see it (and how it's proportioned with the more narrow U.S Plate area), but thanks for the pics and the help. I dunno, I was thinking about buying it and just tossing it (or re-selling) if I don't like it, not much of an investment.

1.Measure the full length of the lid and put a little masking tape right in the middle.
2. clean the trunk real nice. ( I use 72% rubbing alcohol.)
3. Remove the 3M tape on the back.
4. Align the little masking tape with the STAR.
5. Start pressure from the middle and move outward.
* please note, I am not trying to sell you anything, just trying to share the nice item I found.
Another Edit photo for fun.

sigh... 50% is not even tint.... that's just a "hue" SUV's back stock tinted glass on all SUV's is 35... something such as... 20 is dark and going to the limit is privacy glass which is 5%... tint percentage works with the amount of light that comes through the material not b.c. the darker it gets the higher the number... 20% tints allow 20% of UV rays to come through the tint...
and btw no_clue im getting it :]

Post #5 in this thread are my close-up photos. It is actually quite easy to install.

3. Remove the 3M tape on the back.
4. Align the little masking tape with the STAR.

Hope the color looks more like your silver.

Eitherway, you could give it a try.
( or use clear tape to secure the lid and decided if you going to peel off its 3M tape )
I am sure it is loose change to you compare to what you've already done to your car.

new york you are allowed 30% in the front (this includes windshield it's on the dmv's website... BkE5Kid, i woulda fought all the tickets... unless they gave you a ticket in exchange like something stupid such as something hanging from your rear view mirror, even an air freshener... which they do many times and tried it on me too) the back you can have presidential for all they care... as for new jersey we are not allowed to have any at all
but... everyone does it here anyway haha a doctor's note helps a lot
then the legal amount is 30 in new jersey too... with that handy note lol

Most modern cars (SUVs are different) have about 80-85% coming from the factory on side and rear windows.
Accordingly, there are many reasons why tint on a windshield is foolish - it decreases what you can see and - because of the nature of tint - makes the windshield harder to clean - further decreasing vision.
I don't drive in NY so you can do what you want - just be aware of the ramifications of your modifications.
BTW - here is a link to tint laws in various states:

2) 8k's look nice, I'm not that gutsy (5900k) but I love the look!
3) Maybe it's because I'm new but I don't see where you painted your grille?
4) I didn't know before about the sevas reputation but I'm glad you got off them now!
Good Luck!
