03 E500 Oil level
03 E500 Oil level
I purchased a dipstick for my w211, but the problem is that it did not come with marks on there to tell me the MIN and MAX level of the oil.
Question is, does anyone have the measurements? I tried searching but the only number I found was 6.7" from oil pan to MAX level. Anyone can confirm?

Well I bought the oil dip stick for my 2003 E500 from AST and the top of the scale (200) is 7 3/4 inches from the tip of the dip stick. The bottom of the scale (50) is almost 2 inches from the tip but I don't think that's of any importance; if the oil were ever that low there's a serious problem with the engine! When I measured my oil, it was right at the 200 mark and I've never had to add any oil to my engine between oil changes. What brand is your dip stick and do you have a challenge like I do in getting it all the way down the oil tube's bend to the bottome of the oil pan?

I got this

And asked the guy about the markings when I received it...
His response
Hello,
Please call Skip at the supplier, 800-848-6657, 8AM-5PM, EDT, Mon.-Fri. He will be able to help answer your questions and use the tool correctly.
Looks like the correct tool to me. I have the MB tool and it doesn't have full/low etc on it.
When you change the oil leave it 1 qt low then check it with your stick and mark it. Then top off the oil to full recheck and mark again.

Well the point is that I am old fashioned and I never went by quarts.. Just by dipstick
