Audio/ Satellite Question..
1. How do I know if it's "prewired" for Satellite? I removed the Nav. DVD player and couldn't see any loose wires back there that would hook into a unit. Am I prewired?
2. Other than spending $1,200.00 for the MB satellite radio is there anything else I can do to get Sirius to work through my head unit? I mean I see tuners available for other cars for like $100.00. is there a $1,100 MB tax I am unaware of?
thanks!
The MB Integration is complet & I could NEVER own a car without satellite radio again. if you travel more than 50 miles away from where you live, you are currently searching for a new radio station every half hour on the interstate. With satellite... one station across the nation! Neat-o!!
I have seen suppliers that claim full XM integration in our E class with thjeir "little boxes" installed... I'd rather have the factory unit. unfortunately, expensive cars are costly because every component in them is expensive. If you get the unit installed at the dealer be sure to ask for the 3rd Generation SDARS Receiver. It behaves the least erraticly, and also has the ability to receive more XM channels from the satellite when Sirius begins selling the channels loosely.
