New Owner of 2007 E350 Sport Package - Need Feedback
Hi All -
Just purchased my first MB. A 2007 E350 Sport Package.
I have spent a lot of time researching these MB's. Probably should have done my homework a little better before buying. Seems there are always a lot of complaints about E-series. I am curious - do most people here like or dislike their E-classes/MB's? Do they last a long time (compared to a Lexus or Honda)? Dealer told me that there are MB's on road with 200, 300, 400k miles on them. But I get it with the dealers - they wanna sell cars.
So far I have loved the way it drives but admittedly have always owned GM products. I purchased the extended warranty from dealer for that peace of mind as it was a previously owned vehicle. But I do see a lot of threads about reliability, tire wear (have the Michelin's on mine), etc.
Would appreciate any frank comments people have. I think I got pretty good deal ($35k - it is fully loaded, mint condition). If compared to buying new. But wondering if I should sell now before trouble later.
Thanks!

Hi.You sound like very scared guy. Why ?
MB E350 is a great car and I'm sure it brakes less than any GM product.
I had two of them during last 5 years and they were basically trouble free.
Enjoy your car .....and.....get some beer...relax..
)))Good luck.

You cannot expect that the ratio of positive and negative comments reflects the car quality. Forums are mostly about seeking help in case of trouble and the number of posts is more about the popularity of the model, less about the absolute number of problems.
Perhaps the cars are not driven as much in the US but 600 000 km on a diesel W211 is not rare at all here. It does include a bit of fixing and maintenance but quite reasonable if you take care of the car and service it properly.

Don't be confused, or second guess your move to your new sled. In a very short while, you will REALLY start loving the car. You made a great move in getting the extended warranty. Keep the car. Although you should expect that some mechanical parts will fail in time, you're covered by the insurance policy to protect you from the big $ numbers. Just enjoy it, Nick; it's a terrific car.

The 03 & 04s were troublesome, the 05s better, the 06s darn near perfect... The '07s & 08s pretty much flawless. The 09s have a little different (next generation COMAND systems. You're gonna LOVE your '07. I came from GM too (Caddy)... A GREAT switch!!

Congrats. Let's see some pics! Our 07 has been the most reliable car either of us have owned. I am trying to figure how to afford an SL for my wife so I can have the E. Joking aside, it is a keeper. Love this car. Have fun.
Congrats on the E350, those W211s can be great cars if they’ve been well cared for and you stay on top of the common maintenance items like air suspension and electronics. A thorough pre-purchase inspection can save a lot of surprises down the road, and joining local owner groups really helps with tips on specific quirks. I’ve even seen people use services like sallimoservice when they need reliable transport while their car is in the shop. Do you know the full service history on yours, especially the suspension work?
