The Latest E350 Info

My dealer is telling me that, the New e-class will get the 3.7L motor for MY2004. This would mean that the 4-matic will be available on the E500 and the E350 starting in fall 2003!

Anybody else got news?

Hey if don't mind can you ask him what would be the MRSP of it around? and how much would the 4-matic option cost roughly.

Hope your dealer is right.

Everything I have read officially still talks about the E320 being available for MY2004. In the press releases about coming availablity of 4-Matic it is mentioned it will be added to several E Class models to include the E320 sedan and wagon for 2004. Wonder if there is a chance that the 4Matics being built in Graz, Austria may leave the factory with one engine and the other E Classes another, or alternatively that "sometime" in the model year 2004 there will be a change, just not at the beginning?

I note that you post from Canada. I would assume that what you get there will be the same in the US? I do know that when I first started asking about 4Matic availablity the information I got from the one Canadian dealer I talked to proved to be more accurate than the information I was told by dealers in Washington and Illinois. The US dealers were saying several months ago that 4Matic wouldn't even be here in the US on the E Class until spring of 2004 while the Canadian dealer correctly informed me that we would see it at the beginning of MY2004 this fall which has subsequently proven to be true for both the US and Canada.

MSRP for 2004 Mercedes will not be available until just before the vehicles are released, at least officially. Automotive News is usually the first public source with the prices posted and with the fluctuations in currency between US Dollar and the Euro currently there is every reason to expect about a 3% price increase over the current model though MBUSA may alternatively add or delete options as included to keep the base price competitive. My guess is July as the earliest that we will see posted prices on the 2004 E Class and that is assuming the cars will be in showrooms by September here in the US.

People who are getting on the waiting list or are paying up front to get their 2004 E-500 on what bases are they paying??? And if you get in the waiting list or pay down what discounts you should look forward to by dealers on the E-500 2004 on average??

To get on a waiting list most dealers simply write MSRP in where the price would apply and then hold a $2000 refundable deposit. Once you learn what the real price is you have the option of backing out.
