06 E55 Navigation is horrible.
I really dislike my nav setup . Is my only option going aftermarket? Are the newer vehicle versions any better on search for places by name?

Stock nav is really sub-par for these cars, but the only upgrades apparently ae with the latest Dvd and maybe a software upgrade to the COMAND. From what I understand the only difference you will see is the addition to arrival times on the display. My NUVI is many times better than the MB nav...

In addition to maps update DVD with the mentioned feature updates, one option would be to got the new generation NTG2.5 COMAND. But it isn't exactly straightforward on a W211 with the old Comand installed.
PS. some others seem to have multiple posts issues, I had one recently. Aren't you able to delete the duplicates? Worked for me at least.
