Auxiliary Input in your W211

It seems those with C-class have a PITA to set up the auxiliary input. On my 2004 E500, it's a simply mini-stereo plug in the glove box. For now, I have my Garmin connected. Works well, and since the Garmin is also an audio player and has bluetooth, it kills three birds with one stone. I'm wondering - if there are other interesting uses for the auxiliary input?

Tried plugging in my Blackberry Curve 8320 for speakerphone through it. Couldn't get it working.

I have a TV in our 2006 yukon xl denali with RCA inputs. I use that for my ipod input in the denali (red and white plugs go to one stereo jack. Cord used from digital cameras for hooking up to tvs).

It may be an impedance issue. I run a cable from my Garmin to the Aux input and I get all of the Garmin's features through the car stereo -- GPS, Music, and telephone (I have a BB Storm). I like the set up, and just ordered a Kuda mount for the Garmin. I'll post pictures when it's installed.

I read about the auxilliary input here on the forum and finally got it working with my iPod. I bought a cable to go from my iPod to the jack but at first I couldn't get any sound. I thought maybe it was broken, but I tried again this weekend. I had to turn the volume way up on both the iPod and stereo and it was working fine. This is great for long trips!

I have the same aux jack in my 2007 E350, but how do you route the cable out of the glove box? The glove box won't close.

Good question. Since I just got it working, I haven't figured out the best way to do this yet. However, I was able to close the glove compartment with the cable coming out the left side. It does pinch it, so it is probably not the best solution for the long term. Has anyone drilled a hole in the glove compartment to route the cable?

Same here, it looks messy. Still eyeing the full-monty OEM ipod integration kit because of it...

Now that I have the Kuda mount installed, I'm going to tackle the wiring. Since it's only a two-conductor wire, I "think" it will involve some custom patch cords either snaked around the dash, or through it. (I have some fish tapes somewhere) I've got some flat-tape type speaker wire that may come into play. My goal is to hide the wires for the Garmin and the Valentine and not restrict the use of the glovebox.

Can anyone post a pic of the aux input in their glove box? I have an 03 and can't seem to find it.
