'05 E500: THUMP When hitting brakes
Just started noticing that when I hit the brakes relatively quickly, the car makes a "THUMP" noise that I can feel as well. I don't have to hit the brakes too hard to make it happen. Just quickly.
It's really noticable at slow speeds but it happens at pretty much any speed.
Any ideas?

Could be a bad suspension bushing(s). Check for damaged bushing by seeing of they are leaking and by trying to move them yourself. I think the most common to fail is the thrust arm bushing.

Thanks for the responses. Bushing sounds like a reasonable explaination for what I hear/feel. I'm under CPO warranty, so hopfully I'll have no issues w/repair.
I also have a noticable vibration when driving between 60-70 MPH. I realized that many of my wheel weights had fallen off so I had all 4 wheels/tires re-balanced at a local tire shop. The vibration improved significantly but it's still there and noticable.
I wonder if the worn bushings could contribute to the vibrations as well?
