SBC Hold function

Dear All,

I have E500, 10. 2004 - may this be that the car has not SBC Hold option? As I understand to activate Hold function I need to fully press brakes. I tried several times, but in vain - no malfunctions are on the dashboard. Mybe the car is not equipped with this function??

Thank you

Oleg

You might want to add your location info to your profile. My understanding is that SBC Hold was not activated for US cars. It should exist on a European car from 2004.

I am from Russia, but have US version. Do you know whether this function can be activated on US cars?

I don't know but since these cars aren't that heavily SCN coded, flashing the Euro SW to appropriate control units and version coding would likely do it.

I can tell you my 2005 US spec has this function.

I can also tell you I never noticed it until I had brake pads replaced. I think the dealership must have fixed whatever was causing it not to work before.
